Charmaine Santana
As a veteran of the Marine Corps, I've learned the importance of precision, structure, and organization. I've dedicated four years to have those qualities embedded in me. While I they are installed in me, I've never perfected them, and I don't intend to. The freehanded, impromptu paintings are in some way, a rebellion against perfection, precision, structure, and organization. The lucidity of watercolors felt refreshing after leaving a bold world such as the reality of the military. I aim for simplicity, I take inspiration from nostalgia, and I like to put my daydreams in view.

I've done many many art shows around san diego for the past 5-8 years. I've done live art and events, and done kids fairs and farmers markets.
I used to work at the Oceanside farmers market doing caricatures about 5 years ago.

Hello, my name is Ryder Greyshock, I am 13 years old and I am from Lake Forest, California. I began an interest in photography about four years ago, when I was given for Christmas, a small point and shoot camera. I used to go out with all of my friends and I would take all kinds of action shots, but the real reason that I did that so often was I had just caught the photography bug. So after a few years of small cameras and gopros, I decided it was time I buy a real camera and learn real photography. So I purchased a Canon 600d and between my photography class and the articles I studied I was able to comprehend the advanced techniques used to provide the stunning image that viewers look for. So I love to shoot colorful, mind blowing images that would stop a viewer or make them wish they were there. However over the years I haven’t I haven’t lost the passion for shooting action such as skateboarding or especially the ocean! I feel the ocean is my canvas; that is one of my favorite places to shoot.. When the waves are small and the skate park is empty I go on the hunt for curious, touching colors that move me and my soul. I was introduced to the art walk by my Digital Photography teacher, Angela Kiyono. She has been a great inspiration to me and always helped challenged me to improve. I would love to make Mrs. Kiyono proud and be able to show my work at the artwalk.

I am a San Diego based artist and designer w/ a passion for the low brow art movement. My specialty is lovely ladies with a dark twist. Skulls? Cat eyeliner? Unnatural hair colors? That's me! My mediums of choice are acrylic and ink on wood, watercolor paper and recycled board.

Cici Porter Groupé
I create art that celebrates the wild rhythms, luscious colors, and endless forms of nature. Her beauty and unbridled generosity are my inspiration and joy. I want to share my vision from the heart of Pacha Mama with a world that sorely needs to rest in her dignity, dance in her mystery and contemplate the majesty of all her creation!
I studied art in college and then flew off to Alaska to paint, play guitar, and write songs by a mountain stream. With art as a personal companion, I followed her music into a career that ultimately led to Southern California, regional touring and national music awards. Now I've turned my focus back to painting in a studio on Palomar Mountain, outside of San Diego. My work expresses the joy I feel at being back in the arms of Mother Nature with a paintbrush in hand.

I studied studio art in college and have continued to pursue various media, spray paint art being my favorite for the past couple years. Echoes of the Future
I was born in Iceland, where art and literature have always played a strong part in our culture. Iceland’s powerful nature, stern Lutheran tradition, and ancient sagas permeated my experiences growing up.
“Echoes of the Future” is a photographic series that is informed by my early experiences which addresses cultural and economic issues. Images of abandoned, crumbling and burned husks of deserted buildings represent our current declining Western civilization. The framed vestiges of the past, preserved through art, are imposed upon these dilapidated walls; depictions of classical mythology, epic stories, religious firmaments, and the common, vibrant commerce of a past era. These warehouses and homes, scattered about the American landscape, were all once occupied by people who loved, worked, and created families. Against this abandoned stage, the fragments of our history litter the walls like graffiti, reminding us where we’ve been. As our present becomes history flowing into the past, how will our story be told? Which fragments will endure to echo into the future
Daniel Jaimes
Daniel James is an artist
Thanks to a little known space fantasy film called Star Wars which premiered in May 1977...it was by far the most amazing and Epic movie I've ever seen! As for this 10 year old native kid at that time...I was totally blown away by the special effects which inspired me to pick up a pencil and began drawing spaceships, characters and battle scenes from the movie which seemed to come natural at such a young age. Thank you George Lucas, Phil Tippett, Dennis Muren and all those at LucasFilm that brought the Saga into my life. From that moment on, I was drawing on any piece of paper I could get my hands on, and being the second youngest of 10 kids...Yes, you heard me right...10 kids, there was plenty of paper to be found! You could say it was my new way of escaping the realities of the real world and entering my own world with imagination during my childhood. My creative side continued all the way to high school and into my early twenties until my interest in art slowly began to decline due to the lack of appeal, therefore never pursuing a career in art nor exceeding it to the next level. Therefore my drawing days came to an end for the next seventeen years with no regrets...until the passing of my Father in September 2006. With only two days before the funeral services, I wanted to give my grieving Mother something very special and meaningful. So I literally locked myself up with as many photos of my Dad and just like that...began drawing all over again. What originally started as a self portrait, ended up becoming a life collage of fond memories of him. It was by far the hardest 36 hours I've had to endure. Thereby finishing the drawing on time as it stood next to his final resting place. My Mother , my Family and all those in attendance loved It...as it proudly hangs in her living room to this very day.
January, 2007 my reintroduction to art was reignited as it saved me from the hardship and affliction that was subsequently soon to follow as my personal life was turned upside down. With very little or no money...I ended up living in a tiny little room for the next two excruciating years as my artwork had now become my salvation as I kept myself in solitude and learned how to use my new set of eyes as it helped stimulate my mind with creativity and inspiration that I desperately needed instead of alcohol and anguish.
In 2009 I felt confident enough to start offering free portrait drawings for family and friends as it made me feel better knowing that my drawings were serving a purpose in someones life because the expression of gratitude is priceless! In time, my technique and drawing skills had vastly improved with the help of better tools/materials, and the hundreds of hours of non-stop practice. Afterwards, I began drawing what originally inspired me when I was just a kid. You guessed it Pop Culture and Movie Icons as a new hobby, not to mention a NEW direction for my artwork and personal life.
January, 2010 a friend convinced my reluctant self to start displaying my pencil art anywhere possible because honestly I never imagined myself doing anything like this...so I did. During this new chapter, my renew love for art was making a positive impact as I started entering art exhibits that rejuvenated my social world with new and talented friends.
March, 2010 I challenged myself again by purchasing my first canvas, brushes, acrylic paints and just started painting. OMG!...The first three attempts were disastrous and frustrating because my brushstrokes were hideous and it totally sucked! As a result, I went back to the drawing board (literally) and started painting the way I've been drawing: carefully and patiently using a Pixilating technique (painting with dots) . Pixilating has the same characteristics as the pixels on your HDTV and/or digital photos. Within a year, I saw the results of my work as my paintings had evolved piece after piece as I'm continuing to define my diligence style of painting in the solitude but now calm, quietness and peace of the night. I take my art very seriously, but at the same time I'm a kid at heart because the child in me survived. Therefore transforming me into the creative adult that I am today with a better look on life. This is just the beginning as I continue to meet and greet new people at my shows/live Art demonstrations while making new friends as I love capturing the essence of people along the way.
Present Day: My work is now recognized and appreciated by many at every exhibit I show, from people’s homes to coffee shops, wineries, respectable galleries, beautiful Hotels, live music concert halls and most of all...Charities and Auction events. Making a difference in someone's life is by far the most rewarding because giving back what I once lost is priceless! I've shipped commissioned art around this great country of ours and as far as New Zealand and Switzerland. It’s hard to say goodbye to my work when sold, but it also influences me to create more.So what inspires me the most? Knowing it’s never too late to do what you love.

Sharif Carter is an artist
Defying traditional rules and mastering the technique of painting with opaque watercolors on wood panels, Sharif has defined a style of his own. You may find his work gracing the labels of award winning wines, illuminating the walls of fine restaurants and hair salons, or enhancing the layout of a website.
He is currently working on a series inspired by the highly acclaimed animated series Batman Beyond where characters dress up as playing cards.

My name is Bob Boon. I have loved photography for the last forty years of my life. I am a rock n roll photographer by trade and hobby but am inspired by everything that surrounds me. When I recently went to France I was inspired by Monet's gardens at Giverny which then led me to imagine Monet walking around all of Paris, which led to this show. My greatest support comes from my lovely wife Kim and my amazing children who have stood still for my photographs for years and years and will continue to do so. Enjoy your walk with Monet.
