Updates from The Road

conquered Cartagena! [2013]

it was very hot and muggy but we had a great time on our bus and walking tour of the old city. we first stopped at an fort from the 1500's and proceeded to the old city walls. we went to the old dungeon area, former st augustine cloister (now a public university), a gold museum, and a very creepy inquisition museum! and of course walked through some very colorful areas.

tomorrow we go through the panama canal - whee!

we were happy to get a note from danielle that our kitty is doing well.

and yesterday and today steve and i did some yoga and stretching. very difficult to do balancing poses while you are at sea!

in cartegena! [2013]

all is wonderful - just a quick hello first thing in the morning :)

we are docking now. it is a beautiful and muggy morning.

there is a beautiful pillar in the middle of the bay topped by a statue of Mary holding Jesus. gorgeous.

we have been having fun and getting bearings these last 2 days at sea and are ready for some adventure. will write more later today after our tour of the old city!

Pantanal Earthwatch Study [2002]

I did an Earthwatch study in the Pantanal, at Fazenda Rio Negro, on the Rio Negro, which was incredible!
